Born in Montreal, Quebec, Simon-Sylvain Lalonde trained as a classical ballet dancer at Les Grands Ballet Canadiens and The National Ballet School. He has danced with numerous ballet companies in North America and Europe performing renowned classical roles such as in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Les Sylphides, La Esmeralda, Raymonda, and the Nutcracker.
He also studied at The French College of Fine Art, where he specialized in Set & Costume Design & Theatre Production. In 1986 Mr Lalonde joined Xing Dance Theatre and have take the responsibilities as Executive Director to promote and produce the company in an nationally and internationally dance platform, with artistic and innovative production vision.
In 1997 Simon-Sylvain expanded the breadth of his teaching in 1997 when he began to coach competitive figure skaters, designing classes specifically geared for skaters to help them improve their lines, movement qualities and musicality. His students have continued on to become International and Canadian Junior and Senior champions in pairs, singles, ice dancing and synchronize skating categories.
